The VALOFLY Brand
The design of the VALOFLY [ˈvaloflaɪ] logo should appear slim and lightweight to represent the tethered connection between the Tether Ground Station and the Tether Vehicle Module. At the same time, the most important technical aspects of our solutions should be visible:
The V and the A: The first letters in VALOFLY are perfectly capable to represent the primary direction of movement of cable-connected, unmanned systems—up (A) and down (V).
The neologism VALO and FLY: The word creation from VALO (Finnish: light) and FLY points to our roots. VALOFLY was originally founded under the name “Light-Drone Systems” to develop a tethered aircraft with the purpose of illuminating emergency scenes. Although we do not have Finnish roots, we soon agreed that Finland has the most beautiful word for light in Europe. To emphasize this, VALO is designed to be a little slimmer than FLY.
The plus-minus infinity symbol: The combined plus and minus symbols at the center of the infinity loop refer to the DC voltage supply for our Tether Vehicle Modules. The infinity loop itself naturally stands for the uninterruptible power supply. Also the logo also contains a reference to the rotors of uncrewed aerial systems in the form of a stylized rotor blade viewed from above.
Colors
The VALOFLY logo is available in four color variants. The respective use requires the variant with the highest possible contrast to be used.
Whenever possible, the primary variant should be used. The primary variant features dark or light typeface and the red plus-minus-infinity symbol. The single-color variant is allowed if the primary variant is not suitable. For example, to better fit into an overall design or for technical reasons.
Minimum size and space requirements
We have established certain guidelines for the use of our logo to ensure consistency.
